In Aug 2023, Ph.D. students Binbin Lin and Joynal Abedin from GEAR Lab delivered presentations at ICC 2023 conference in Cape Town, South Africa.
Binbin Lin delivered three oral presentation, the topics are
Statistical Machine Learning Meets High-Dimensional Spatiotemporal Challenges - A Case Study of COVID-19 Modeling
Sensing the Pulse of the Pandemic through Geospatial Big Data
Geographically and Temporally reveal Circadian Rhythm Disorder Based on Nocturnal Twitter Activity During Covid-19 Pandemic

She also played an active role in the Next Generation Mapping meeting at the conference, offering valuable insights into how young scholars in the field of Cartography can contribute and take meaningful actions.

Joynal Abedin delivered a oral presentation:
"Mapping the geographically and temporally evolved flood risks in the contiguous United States" which tried to evaluate and map county-wise flood risk in the United States and unravel its spatial-temporal dynamics from 2001 to 2019.
