Congratulations to Dr. Mingzheng Yang on His Ph.D. Graduation

The GEAR Lab is incredibly proud to announce the graduation of Dr. Mingzheng Yang, who recently completed his Ph.D. at Texas A&M University. Dr. Yang is the fifth doctoral student to graduate from our research group.

During his time in the lab, Mingzheng took on a highly ambitious and creative research direction: utilizing geospatial big data to examine human sleep and circadian patterns alongside their influencing social-environmental factors. His goal was to bridge geography with experimental biology to validate and inspire research on sleep mechanisms. Through immense persistence and hard work, he made true breakthroughs in this challenging area.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to his committee members, Dr. Wanhe Li, Dr. Heng Cai, and Dr. John Casellas Connors, for their patient and insightful guidance, as well as the College of Arts & Sciences and the Department of Geography at Texas A&M for their continued support.

Dr. Yang is now beginning his next chapter at the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). We have been honored to witness his growth into an independent and confident scholar, and we wish him continued success in his exciting new career!
