Congratulations to Dr. Mingzheng Yang on successfully defending his Ph.D. dissertation at Texas A&M University.

Dr. Yang’s dissertation, titled “Deciphering the Social-Environmental Effects on Biological Rhythm Disorders through Spatial Data Science,” explores how social and environmental conditions are connected to biological rhythm disorders and related health outcomes. His work brings spatial data science into conversation with public health, geography, and human well-being, offering valuable insight into issues such as sleep and wake disruption, insomnia, obesity, heart disease, loneliness, and broader physical and mental health challenges.

This achievement reflects years of focused research, intellectual persistence, and dedication to meaningful scientific questions. Completing a Ph.D. is never only the result of one successful defense.
