We’re excited to share that Yifan Yang, a Ph.D. student in the GEAR Lab, has been selected as one of the 2025–2026 Data Science Student Ambassadors for the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS). This highly competitive and prestigious scholarship program brings together Ph.D. students who will passionately represent TAMIDS across campus by fostering AI, data science, and machine learning literacy within academic communities.
As a TAMIDS Ambassador, Yifan will develop and lead outreach initiatives aimed at encouraging adoption of innovative geospatial data science techniques among peers, faculty, and researchers. Their role sits at the exciting intersection of geospatial science, AI, and data-informed collaboration!
