Four Short Articles Accepted for Oral Presentations at AutoCarto 2022

Four short articles led by GEAR Lab members have been accepted for oral presentations at AutoCarto 2022. Congratulations!


The AutoCarto 2022, the 24th International Research Symposium on cartography and GIScience, will be held in ESRI Campus, Redlands, California on November 2-4, 2022. This year's theme is "Ethics in Mapping: Integrity, Inclusion, and Empathy." Four short articles were submitted from the GEAR Lab and accepted for oral presentations at AutoCarto 2022, including:

  1. Debayan Mandal, Uncertainties in Geolocating Social Media Data for Disaster Research

  2. Binbin Lin, Multi-Granular Geovisualizations of Public Perceptions of COVID-19 through the Lens of Twitter

  3. Bing Zhou, Overlooked Voices under Strict Lockdown: Mapping Humanitarian Needs in 2022 Shanghai COVID-19 Outbreak

  4. Lei Zou, Empowering Disaster Response with Social Media and GeoAI: Opportunities and Challenges
