Welcome to the GEAR Lab, Zongrong(Jasper) Li!

We are excited to welcome Jasper, who joined GEAR lab this Fall 2025! 🎉

Zongrong (Jasper) Li is a Ph.D. student in Geography at Texas A&M University, advised by Dr. Lei Zou. He recently earned his Master’s degree in Spatial Data Science from the University of Southern California, where he developed a strong foundation in advanced geospatial analytics and computational methods.

Jasper’s research interests span Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI), Spatial Data Science and Data Mining, Human–Environment Interactions in 3D Urban Space, and Responsible GIS & AI. His work is motivated by a vision to better understand and model the complex relationships between humans and their environments, with the goal of contributing to smarter, more resilient urban systems.

Beyond his academic achievements, Jasper brings energy, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit to the lab. As he embarks on this new chapter, we are confident that his expertise and enthusiasm will enrich ongoing projects and spark new directions for research in GeoAI and urban systems.

We are thrilled to have Jasper as part of our research community and look forward to the innovative ideas and impactful contributions he will bring.
