We are thrilled to announce that Yifan Yang has successfully passed his Ph.D. preliminary examination.

During his defense, Yifan presented his research titled, "Cross-View Geospatial Artificial Intelligence for Disaster Damage Assessment: From Ground-Level Perception to Immersive Decision Support." His work focuses on advancing the fusion of multimodal data to better understand and manage disasters. As he powerfully noted during his presentation: "Seeing, describing, and governing disasters — beyond the boundaries of the screen, let the real world become the stage for intelligence."
A special thank you to Yifan's committee chair, Dr. Lei Zou, and committee members Dr. Heng Cai, Dr. Andrew Klein, and Dr. Zhengzhong Tu for their continuous support and invaluable feedback.

Congratulations, Yifan, on this major milestone and the final push toward your dissertation!
